Isabel Thiroux
Director of Artistic Administration
Isabel brings 16 years of arts administration experience to BSO, joining the team most recently from the American Youth Symphony, where she held various roles, including director of orchestra operations and, ultimately, executive director. Throughout her tenure, she has coordinated the production of approximately 160 concerts, ranging from full orchestra to chamber ensembles, collaborations, movie concerts, and educational programs.
Coming from a musical family, Isabel was inspired by her upbringing to pursue a lifelong passion for music. She began playing the violin at age four and transitioned to the viola at 14. As a dedicated freelance violist based in Los Angeles, Isabel has performed with the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra for 20 years, which has allowed her to connect with others through music and honor her family’s deep ties to Bakersfield and its cultural heritage.
Isabel is deeply inspired by BSO’s mission to unify and celebrate the diverse community through shared musical experiences. She is honored to continue this meaningful work as the director of artistic administration.
