BSO Next brings students from across Kern County to Symphony concerts. The goal of the program is to not only expose students to professional musical performance, but to inspire students with a broad view of art, culture, education, and their own untapped potential. This program includes access to interactive learning materials and an educational and engaging pre-concert presentation designed for students.

LEARNING MATERIALS
Registered groups will receive pre- and post-concert learning materials at least two weeks prior to performance via email.

All communication will be provided by our BSO staff.

PRE-CONCERT PRESENTATION
5:30 p.m. - A fun and interactive introduction to the evening’s performance, deepening their appreciation for symphonic music.

Introducing the BSO Next Experience!
We're excited to announce an extended experience for your students. These activities are optional and will happen prior to each concert. And the best part– it's FREE!
OPTION 1:
🎓 Campus Tour – A guided visit to Bakersfield College, CSUB, or Taft College including a dinner on campus, showing students a tangible pathway to their future.
Recommended for Middle and High School students
Start times of the campus tour will vary based on the participating campus.
OPTION 2:
🍽 Dining Experience – A meal at a local venue such as the Bakersfield Museum of Art or other local establishments (based on capacity and participation), introducing students to the enjoyment of dining in a welcoming and cultural setting.
Recommended for 4th Grade through High School students
Start times of the dining experience will vary based on the venue location.
