How old were you when you started playing your instrument?

“I began playing the piano at the ripe old age of three.”

What is your favorite music to listen to?

“I enjoy listening to many different styles of music: Classical, Rock, Film/Video Game, Heavy Metal, Latin, Musical Theatre and Jazz are just a few that end up on my ever-changing playlist.”

What is one piece of advice you would give to an aspiring musician? 

“Always remember that music is fun! How many other professions get to say they "play" when they work?”

What do you enjoy most about playing with the BSO? 

“I love the audience response at the end of every concert and the passionate conversations I have with those who were moved by the music.”


Why do you believe in the importance of music education?

“Music is an incredibly important part of being human. It connects us to one another, it allows us to express ourselves in ways that we might otherwise be unable to, and it can change our deepest thoughts and feelings!”

Besides the Bakersfield Symphony, what else do you do for a living?

“I am blessed to be a full time musician! During the weekdays I am one of two collaborative pianists at Bakersfield College, in the evenings I teach piano lessons to students of all ages, and on weekends you will find me gigging with various bands (including my rock band Art and the Resistance).”
