Peter and the Wolf - March/April 2022
Peter and the Wolf
The Bakersfield Symphony is excited to bring a piece of music that has been loved for generations to life for our Young People’s Concert this season. Peter and the Wolf tells the story of a young boy, Peter, who ventures into the meadow beyond the gate (against orders from his grandfather) and embarks on an adventure with his animal friends as they encounter a dangerous wolf in the wild.
This season the Bakersfield Symphony is offering our Young People’s Concert in a hybrid model: you may choose to attend the performance live and in-person OR view the performance virtually.
Give me the details!
When will the concert be available?
The program will be available virtually from May 2nd - June 3rd.
The in-person performances of Peter and the Wolf this season have been cancelled due to restrictions that prevent schools from taking field trips. We are disappointed by this turn of events, but we anticipate being back to in-person performances next season!
What age group is this production designed for?
Elementary school students will find the program engaging and fun! We have also had special education classes at the jr. high and high school level attend programs with great success.
How much does it cost?
Virtual access is free, with a suggested donation of $15.00 per class.
Are there any lesson materials I can use to prepare my students?
Yes! We have a set of pre- and post-concert lesson plans and activities that you may use if you wish - it is entirely optional, and you are encouraged to adjust anything you need to in order to best meet the needs of YOUR students. You may download the materials below:
How do I sign up?
