How old were you when you started playing your instrument?

“I was seven years old - I asked for a violin and lessons for my birthday.”

What is your favorite music to listen to? 

“I listen to all kinds of music, from Classical to Jazz to Rock to Blues to Country to Bluegrass - and more.”

Besides the Bakersfield Symphony, what else do you do for a living?

“I am an attorney.”

What is one piece of advice you would give to an aspiring musician? 

“Some days practicing is hard and frustrating, but keep on going. If you put in the work, you get the rewards.”

What do you enjoy most about playing with the BSO? 

“The best thing about playing with the BSO is making the world's most beautiful music with my friends.”

Why do you believe in the importance of music education?

Music makes life so much richer. It taps into our deepest emotions and greatest joys. The more you experience and learn about music, the richer the experience. Music has meant so much to me since my childhood - it really is a part of who I am.
