Pictures at an Exhibition

Modes Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition is a classic piece of orchestral (and originally piano) literature, and very accessible to younger audience members. The story behind the music and the depth of emotion Mussorgsky puts into the work makes the piece relatable, as well as offering a connection between music and visual art. And guess what? Kids love the music too!

Below are a set of video lessons and resources for teaching through Pictures at an Exhibition. The movements can be taught as stand-alone lessons, or you can make your way through the entire piece of music.
